Point Sales: Active Airline and Hotel Buy-Points Offers
Prices are estimates from published offers. Confirm the bonus on your own purchase page before you pay, since many sales are targeted.
Airlines and hotels sell points and miles straight to members, and every few weeks they put them on sale: a bonus of 50% to 120%, or a discount of 20% to 40% off the usual price. This page lists every sale we can verify right now, with the price you would pay per point, the dates, the purchase cap and a link to buy.
Buying points is almost never the best first move. Check transfer bonuses first, because moving credit card points often beats paying cash, and run your spending through the free MaxPoints calculator. When you do need a few more points to finish a booking, a sale is the time to buy them.

How we calculate these sales
- Price per point is an estimate. We take the lowest published price at the top bonus or discount tier, as reported by the program or by travel sites that watch the purchase page, in U.S. cents before any foreign sales tax. Your own screen is the offer. Many sales are targeted, so you may see a smaller bonus.
- Typical value is The Points Guy’s valuation. Each program shows The Points Guy’s October 2026 valuation, the same figure our calculators use. TPG doesn’t value Lufthansa Miles & More, so it shows our calculator’s 1¢ fallback, and a program that isn’t in our calculator shows our own editorial estimate. “Cheaper than typical value” means the sale price is at most 80% of that estimate. “Near” is 80% to 100%. “Above” means you would pay more than the points usually return.
- Dates are the program’s own. A sale disappears from this page at the end of its last day in the program’s time zone. Where a program does not publish a start date we show “Ongoing” and where the end date is a rolling renewal we show the latest date reported.
- Updated daily. We check for new and extended sales every day, and the Last updated date above is when we last did. A sale can still end or change between checks.
- Not every program is listed. We include sales we can confirm from the program or at least one published report. Offers that are only sent to select members, and programs that have not sold points recently, are left out.
Tips
Buy for a booking, not a stash. Purchased points are non-refundable and rarely count toward status. Price the award first, then buy only the shortfall.
Mind the tier thresholds. Bonuses step up with purchase size. Buying 4,000 points can earn no bonus while 5,000 earns 80% or more. Read the tier table on the purchase page.
Use the right card. Purchases are processed by the program or by Points.com. Some cards earn bonus points on them, and some co-brand cards earn 10x. Check the earn rate in the calculator before you pay.
Compare with a transfer. If you hold Chase, Amex, Capital One, Citi or Bilt points, a transfer bonus to the same program can cost you nothing in cash.
FAQ
It is a limited-time offer from an airline or hotel program where you buy points directly, with a bonus on top (for example 100% means you receive double) or a discount off the normal price. It is separate from a credit card transfer bonus.
We divide what the purchase costs by the points you receive after the bonus or discount, at the best published tier. For a 120% bonus on a base price of $10 per 1,000 points, you receive 2,200 points for $10, which is about 0.45¢ each. It is an estimate: taxes, fees and your own tier can change it.
Daily. The Last updated date at the top shows the most recent check, and a sale drops off automatically after its last day.
Sometimes. It can make sense to top off an award you have already found when the price per point is below what the redemption saves you in cash, or to buy hotel points at a deep bonus for a stay you have priced. It rarely makes sense to buy points speculatively.
Many sales are targeted, so the bonus on your account can be smaller or larger than the headline. The purchase page you are logged in to is the source of truth.
Yes. The credit card rewards calculator is free and does not require a signup.
Points sales are the top-off, not the plan
