Southwest is selling Rapid Rewards points at up to 50% off through 11:59 p.m. CT on October 29, 2026. AwardWallet reported the relaunch on October 7, 2026 and did not publish a start date. At the 50% tier, 60,000 points cost $900, which is 1.5¢ a point. The base price is 3¢.

This is a price cut, not bonus points. You receive the points you buy, at a lower price. The Points Guy’s October 2026 valuation for a Southwest point is 1.25¢. At 1.5¢ you pay more than that typical value, so the purchase only makes sense to top off a priced award. Some accounts see 45% off instead, which is 1.65¢.

Before you buy points: Run your spending through the credit card rewards calculator. A buy-points sale does not fix a wallet that should be earning a transferable currency. Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt transfer 1:1 to Southwest, so check that first.

Is it ever worth it?

Rarely. At 1.5¢ you pay more than the 1.25¢ typical value, and the 45% version is 1.65¢. Buying points only makes sense when you are short of a priced award and a Chase or Bilt transfer cannot cover the gap. Buy the exact shortfall, and only if your account shows the 50% tier, which starts at 7,000 points.

Our verdict

Skip it, unless you are topping off a specific award, the 50% price is on your account, and a 1:1 transfer from Chase Ultimate Rewards or Bilt cannot fill the gap.
