How we estimate
- Every rate on this page comes from the card catalog. Chase Freedom Rise pays 1.5× on spending outside the bonus categories listed above, and up to 1.5× on everyday spending.
- We value this card's points at 1¢ each. Cash back is valued at 1¢.
- Net is a year of rewards minus the annual fee. Credits count only when you tick the box.
- Welcome bonuses are left out of the tool so the numbers read as an ordinary year.
- Rent is not in the boxes: most landlords charge a fee that cancels out the rewards, and only a few cards earn on rent at all. Add rent in the full calculator, where those rules are modelled.
- Travel-portal bookings are not in the boxes, because portal prices differ from booking direct. The portal rates are in the table above.
- Rates checked with issuers in October 2026. Terms change, so confirm with the issuer before you apply. Educational estimate, not financial advice.

| Credit | Sticker value | Counted |
|---|---|---|
| Statement credit for setting up automatic payments One-time credit, not annual. Set up automatic payments within the first 3 months from account opening and remain enrolled for at least 90 consecutive days. Chase states the value may be reportable miscellaneous income. | $25 | $25 |
Sticker value is the full face amount. Counted is what the calculator credits, which is lower where most people do not use the perk in full.
Where this data came from
Checked creditcards.chase.com 2026-10-05. $0 annual fee. 1.5% cash back on every purchase and a 25 dollar statement credit after each monthly automatic payment, up to 50 dollars a year. Chase does not publish a foreign transaction fee for this card, so the fee is recorded as none rather than assumed. Unverified: the 3% figure sometimes quoted for this card is an inference from its absence from Chase's list of no-foreign-transaction-fee cards, not a published rate, and is deliberately not used here. The catalog listed this card as paying Chase Ultimate Rewards points at 2.05 cents, which valued a cash-back card at more than twice what it pays; it is cash back, valued at 1 cent.
FAQ
The Chase Freedom Rise has no annual fee, so the only thing that matters is what it earns. Its best rate is 1.5× on everyday spending.
It depends on your mix, not the card. Earning alone will not cover the fee: this card pays the same rate as its rivals in the categories most people use. It has to be worth it through credits, the welcome bonus, or a transfer partner you would use. It also carries $25 of credits we can count, but only count them if you would spend that money anyway. Run your own numbers in the calculator above to see where it lands against the rest of the catalog.
The listed welcome offer is none on file, and offers at these cards change often, so confirm the current terms and the spending requirement with the issuer before you apply.
Yes. It earns Cash Back, which you can transfer to the partners below. Transfers are what make a 1¢ valuation reachable; using the points for cash back is worth far less.
No. The Chase Freedom Rise charges no foreign transaction fee, so spending abroad earns at the same rate as at home, minus what the merchant adds.
