Delta is selling SkyMiles with a bonus of up to 50% through October 31, 2026. The bonus steps up with the size of your purchase, and the best price is about 2.51¢ per mile, including the 7.5% federal excise tax.
Delta miles are usually worth around 1.2¢ to us, because most Delta awards are priced to the cash fare. That puts the best price at roughly double what the miles return. This is a sale for a narrow case.
Before you buy points: Run your spending through the credit card rewards calculator. A buy-points sale does not fix a wallet that should be earning a transferable currency. Amex Membership Rewards transfer to Delta at 1:1, and Delta is the partner most Amex holders use.

- Annual limit: 60,000 miles a year, before the bonus.

- Refunds: purchases are final.
Our verdict
Only worth it to top off a specific award, and only if your Amex points are spoken for. At about 2.5¢ a mile against a 1.2¢ planning value, this is one of the more expensive sales on the board. If the cash fare is lower than the cost of the miles, pay the fare.
